Program Highlights
Our program provides a wide variety of activities to enhance each child’s opportunities to play and learn. We emphasize a “Hands-on Learning” approach. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed where each child’s self-esteem is strengthened and opportunities are given to promote independence and success. Our program includes: Music and Movement, creative art, science circle time, blocks, dramatic play, and free choices. Below are a few highlights of our program at Pomerado Christian Preschool.
Caring and Qualified Staff
Our caring staff realizes the importance to help each child develop to his or her full potential. They provide love and understanding for each child according their needs. All staff have been fingerprinted and certified in both Pediatric CPR and First Aid. Our staff continually participates in conferences and in-service training to remain up to date in the field of Early Childhood Education. Each staff member is a professing believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christian Nurture
The preschool is a ministry of Pomerado Christian Church and features simple, meaningful Christian nurture as part of our curriculum. The children experience this through prayer, music, songs, finger plays and monthly Bible stories that relate to our monthly themes. Christian holidays are also celebrated in ways appropriated for young children.
Biblical Curriculum
The education at Pomerado Christian Preschool is God-centered and seeks to view life in every dimension as God sees it. We believe that the knowledge of Jesus Christ is essential for personal development. Our curriculum has been planned and developed to provide a sound biblical basis for stimulating the different developmental areas of the preschool child.
AcSI Member
Pomerado Christian Preschool is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). An authentic Christian school/program may be thought of as involving the four interwoven educational strands of: academic ideas and thinking, skills for life and living, biblical worldview grounding, and personal character, values, and spiritual formation. ACSI programs are a highly effective way for a Christian school to evaluate itself in light of its unique educational mission.
Outdoor Play
We have beautiful a playground with large natural rocks for climbing and a wide variety of equipment including: a sandbox, tricycles, slides, water play, balls and much more. We encourage large muscle development, running, jumping, balancing, and dexterity coordination during outdoor play.
Snacks
A healthy snack including two food groups is provided during each session. Our monthly snack menu is posted inside each classroom
